Breathe and Reset with Rolling Breath

Breathe and Reset with Rolling Breath

Breathe and Reset with Rolling Breath

Calm your body, balance your nervous system and quiet your mind through a guided four-part breath.

Rolling breath balances the nervous system by using both belly and chest breathing. Belly breathing is linked to the parasympathetic or rest and reset nervous system. Chest breathing is linked to the sympathetic or fight and flight nervous system.

When rolling the breath start by breathing in through the nose filling up the belly first, then up through the chest...pause... and slowly exhale through the nose letting the air out of the chest first and then down through belly..pause. Repeat using inhales and exhales through the nose. You do not need to overfill the lungs or hold the breath for long periods of time. The rhythm will make sense once you repeat a few and find your comfort level.

This short, peaceful practice invites you to slow down, settle into stillness, and return to center.  Notice how you feel before and after trying this breathing technique. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
