About Om Susannah Yoga
Hello, I'm Susannah.
I'm a yoga educator, coach, and the founder of Om Susannah Yoga — a space dedicated to deepening practice, building strength, and returning home to yourself.
I have been teaching since 2010, and practicing for many years before that. My path into yoga began the way most meaningful things do: not with a grand plan, but with a quiet pull. I stepped onto the mat and never fully stepped off. Over the years I trained in 26&2 (Intermediate and Advanced), Hot Yoga, Hot Pilates (Level 2), Yoga Nidra, breathwork, and mindfulness — not to collect credentials, but because each modality cracked something open. Each one gave me a new language for what the body and mind are always trying to say.
My Teaching Philosophy
I teach yoga the way I was taught the most important lessons of my life: directly, honestly, and with deep respect for the intelligence already living inside you.
My classes and retreats are not about performance. They are about going deep — in the body, in the mind, in the practice itself. I teach you how to understand what you’re feeling so you can make real decisions: to go further, to explore, or to stay and let something land. This is not about pushing to injury or making you dread showing up. It is about building the kind of relationship with your practice that takes you somewhere.
I believe the poses are just a doorway. What we’re really after is presence.
Coaching
Coaching is a cornerstone of what I do — and it goes well beyond the posture.
I am a certified coach with USA Yoga and the International Yoga Sports Federation (IYSF), and I coach students to competition level working on the precision, alignment, and depth that separates a solid practice from an exceptional one. But the real work is coaching the person. The mental game, the relationship with effort, the way a student holds themselves when things get hard — that’s where lasting change lives.
Whether you’re preparing for competition or simply ready to take your practice somewhere new, private coaching gives us the space to work on exactly what you need.
What I Teach
26&2 — Intermediate & Advanced
The 26&2 series is a precise, therapeutic practice that works on every system of the body — muscular, skeletal, circulatory, nervous, endocrine, and beyond. It is not just exercise; it is consciousness work.
The Intermediate class is the bridge between the 26&2 and the Advanced 84 Asana class. It is not a set sequence — it is dynamic and theme-driven. Each class follows a specific outline, and we cycle through those outlines over time, systematically introducing postures from the Advanced series alongside coaching drills that develop the body-part awareness, strength, and flexibility needed to get there. If you have only ever practiced 26&2, this class will test you in ways you didn’t expect — and that’s exactly the point.
The Advanced 84 Asana class is a mostly set, two-hour sequence — a deeper, longer, and more demanding practice for students ready to go all the way in.
Hot Pilates (Level 2)
Strength, core, and full-body conditioning in a heated room. Hot Pilates builds the foundation that makes everything else possible — and it is harder than it looks.
Yoga Nidra
Guided yogic sleep to restore the nervous system and access the kind of rest that sleep alone can’t always provide.
Breathwork & Mindfulness
Tools you can carry off the mat and into your life — for regulation, clarity, and presence.
Courses: Technique Refinement
For students who want to go deep on a specific skill. The Headstand Series, for example, is a structured course that takes you through the strength, alignment, and courage required to invert with confidence — breaking the practice down posture by posture, week by week.
The Retreats
The retreats are where everything comes together.
I created them for students who are ready for something more than a weekly class — who want to go deeper into their practice, into their bodies, and into themselves. In a carefully held space, away from the noise of ordinary life, things become possible that simply aren’t available in a 60-minute class.
Our Joshua Tree retreats take place in the high desert, a landscape that has a way of stripping things down to what matters. The terrain is honest. The silence is real. And the practice, held in that environment, tends to leave a mark.
Every retreat is small by design. You will be seen, supported, and challenged — in exactly the right measure.
My Promise to You
Whether you are joining me for a course, private coaching, or a retreat in the desert, you will be met with care, rigor, and a genuine investment in your growth. I do not believe in shortcuts, and I do not teach what I do not practice.
I’m honored you’re here. I hope we get to practice together.
With love,
Susannah
